Engagement Session at Beechwood Farms

Sep 17, 2019 | Pittsburgh Engagement Photographer

Never before have I had to find a new location for a session ON THE WAY to that session before. But there is a first time for everything, and I couldn’t be more pleased at the turnout! When we realized Hartwood Acres was closed for the day, we switched gears and did our Engagement Session at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve instead.

When Jessica messaged me to tell me where we were headed was closed for the day, fix-it-mode kicked in!

I needed to find us a new location, close to where we were headed, and fast! Luckily, Google Maps didn’t fail me. I found two locations nearby, on the fly, so Jessica and Anthony told me which they preferred. We met there without issue.

Happily, we found out that the Nature Reserve has a pond. It turned out to be a quaint little place, tucked into the side of the road. You couldn’t even see the pond from main building. We went “trecking” and made our way to our new spot for photos.

There was a little path which we found rather easily, even though I nearly stepped on a toad.

I was happy to find a deck that reached out into the water. We also found a few covered benches, and a beautiful bridge. It gave us exactly what we needed to have a variety of backgrounds for our photos.

Jessica and Anthony were shy in front of the camera, but I love the results.

I always giggle when clients get nervous when I ask if they had any ideas they wanted photographed. I reassure them that I only ask to make sure we capture EXACTLY what they want. (After they look at each other and shrug.) And it turned out Jessica did have one idea – one that I loved!

She mentioned a photo she had seen on Pinterest. It was a photo that had her and Anthony kissing behind her ring. I gladly took the photo and think the result is adorable. I’m hoping to see it at their wedding!

As I promised Anthony we kept our session short and painless!

They got a variety of photos to use at their wedding. I cannot wait to see how they use them! All in all I think our Beechwood Farms Engagement Session was a success.
