Does your child have a favorite toy? Even if just for the day, it is probably the one thing that will provide them comfort for the day!

I highly recommend bringing this toy to their session. While I find it best to keep it hidden unless necessary, it can save a session from a tantrum or attachment at the hip!

They can make them laugh too! A quick peek-a-boo behind the camera can create amazing and genuine smiles 🙂

Choosing your location for your photos can be difficult. I like to start with a few simple questions:

1. Where do you spend a lot of time?
2. Is there somewhere that has meaning to you?
3. Are you more city or more outdoorsy (is too a word!!!!) These questions can help you easily come up with at least one, if not a handful of places. Your photographer (that's me) can then help you determine the best one based on available locations to shoot, lighting, and various other details to find the exact right location for you!

It's the little details that matter! The teeny hands, those sharp but delicate fingernails that you're way too scared to cut. The fingers that are so small it takes all of them to grip just one of yours, but can grip so tight you think they'll never let go!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Make sure to capture them. Don't let them slip by. Take a photo to remember them so that when those hands are as big as yours you can look back and remember how small and filled with love they were, and how they filled your heart so full, you thought it might burst! ⠀⠀

Should you invite kids to your wedding? It is a big question and one that shouldn't be taken lightly! There are pros and cons to each side of the argument, but I'll just list a few pros below for consideration:

1. Kids are adorable! It can be so fun to see your family and friends' children, especially if you don't see them often!
2. Parents always have the option of leaving their little ones at home if they are able to get a sitter and won't feel alienated if they aren't allowed to bring them.
3. Kids can light up a dance floor! Adults any more don't like to dance, but kids love to! They can be the ice breaker you need to get the party started!

Think about how many kids will actually be there, how do they normally behave, and how your guests will feel about them too. I have nothing against an adult wedding! Just make sure you and your fiance decide together and weigh each side appropriately 🙂

One of my favorite things about being a photographer is getting to see parents meet their babies. Connections with people (like YOU) means the world to me and my business. And watching someone change from a wife to a mom is so amazing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
